Sotong Pangkong, Special Culinary in Ramadhan

Every region in Indonesia has some special foods for the month of Ramadhan. In Pontianak, usually people eat traditional foods that were burned in the form of dried squid or sotong pangkong. The taste of this food is very salty, and the process is little bit unique. After the squid baked, it is beaten using hammer.



Every Ramadhan, we will see a lot of people sell sotong pangkong along Merdeka Street. Many people curious with its cooking process. This food is made from the dried squid and then burnt using charcoal. After burning, the squid will be beaten using a hammer. Many people like sotong pangkong, because besides it taste is delicious, the price is quite cheap. A serving of sotong pangkong priced between 5 thousand until 20 thousand rupiah
Sotong Pangkong will be tasted delicious when we eat it with chili sauce and vinegar, so it's full of sweet, salty, savory and spicy. In Ramadhan Month, many people queue to buy sotong pangkong to be served as the special menu.
